Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence is triggering what he calls the largest infrastructure buildout ever seen, as governments and companies worldwide invest trillions of dollars into AI computing power.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Huang explained that the buildout spans energy systems, semiconductor manufacturing, cloud infrastructure, data centers, and emerging “AI factories.” He emphasized that the transformation is still in its early stages, with demand for AI computing accelerating at an unprecedented pace.
Huang highlighted AI as a major opportunity for U.S. re-industrialization, aligning with President Donald Trump’s push to bring manufacturing and jobs back home. He said the AI boom will create millions of jobs across construction, energy, networking, engineering, and design, benefiting workers from electricians to architects.
Nvidia has emerged as a central player in the global AI surge, becoming the first publicly traded company to reach a $5 trillion market valuation. Huang estimates that over the next 15 years, AI-related infrastructure spending could reach as much as $85 trillion, as artificial intelligence becomes embedded across industries worldwide.
Addressing concerns about rising costs, Huang said Nvidia’s latest H200 chips are significantly more energy-efficient and affordable, helping reduce the cost of running AI systems while expanding access to the technology. He also dismissed fears of an AI bubble, arguing that adoption is still far from peaking.
Finally, Huang downplayed concerns over U.S. chip exports to China, stating that China’s military is not reliant on American hardware, following the Trump administration’s approval for Nvidia to resume certain international AI chip shipments.
